Healthy Living

This August, me and the other half are lucky enough to be able to go way for a week away to Spain with her family.
Before hand though, much like a lot of people going on holiday this summer, we thought we should lose a bit of weight so we're looking good when we hit the beach!

A lot of people want to lose weight, not just so they can look better for themselves but also simply to feel better inside as well. Sometimes it's not all that easy doing it on your own, and I find it's easier if you do it with somebody.
So if you're looking for someone to take that journey with you, I would be more than happy to come along with you with some hopefully helpful tips to make it a little bit easier.

I'm no health professional, I promise you that, but I'm sure of we share some tips and advice, we can manage it together.

My first bit of advice:

It's all about the food

I love my food and if given the opportunity, I'd would just keep eating and eating. But this wouldn't help me lose weight now.
What a lot of people don't realise, including me, is how much we actually eat each day.

We use 'Lifesum' to track what we eat, it has an extensive list of foods, including foods from your major food retailers like Tesco and Asda, as well as popular restaurant and food chains like McDonalds and Starbucks. To make things easier, it also has a barcode scanner which finds the foods for you so you don't have to spend too much time hunting for foods.

All you have to do is put in your height and current weight, what kind of diet you're looking for e.g. losing weight, a healthy diet or gaining weight for muscle. Enter your goal weight and then 'Lifesum' works the rest out for you. Just add everything you eat, it'll work everything out for you, providing you a goal of so many calories each day.

To get the most out of it, you just have to be honest with what you're eating and log as much as you can. It's all done with a little lee way for estimation, but it gives you a very close look at what you're eating each day and will occasionally it sends you some ideas that can help you hit your goal.

What I love is that it's not at all about being under on the calories and eating as little as possible. It's about hitting the goal, but not going too far over.
Try it out and let me know if you think it helps. Any advice you have yourself, drop me a comment. I'll take all the advice I can, because knowledge is power, and everyone loves a bit of that.

I was not paid to write this post, I found the app my self. All opinions are my own.
